New Series of Spirits from Bornholm Distillery

Bornholm Distillery has always strived to discover the essence of Bornholm. We have extensively used local ingredients in our products to capture the scent and taste of Bornholm in our bottles.

Now, we are taking it a step further by developing a new spirits concept based on our four pillars of values: Curiosity, innovation, tradition, and local identity.

We call the new spirits concept: Holmus®.

The Holmus Series

Holmus® from Bornholm Distillery will be a fusion of refinement, boldness, and reimagination. A serie deeply rooted in tradition, our profound love for Bornholm and the abundant of natural resources on the island.

Every batch crafted in very limited numbers. They will be destilled using ingredients foraged localy, providing each batch with its own unique flavor profile. All discribed in detail here on our website.

The Holmus series will consist of four exclusive products: Holmus gin, Holmus aquavit, Holmus honningsyp and Holmus young grain.

Holmus Gin captures the essence of Bornholm's nature through meticulous distillation with locally sourced botanicals, many of which are handpicked by us in the autumn. Each batch - reflecting the unique harvest - presenting a distinct flavor profile.

Holmus Aquavit honors the Danish tradition of aquavit with each batch boasting a unique flavor profile. Carefully distilled with hand-harvested Bornholm caraway, it captures the essence of our island home.

Holmus Honningsyp, a traditional Bornholm dram for the lunch table, crafted with freshly harvested honey in abundance, offering a pleasant sweetness and a unique flavor profile for each batch.

Holmus Young Grain is a reinterpretation of the grain brandies distilled in Bornholm distilleries up to a century ago. Fermented using both traditional and modern grain varieties, it undergoes aging in experimental barrel types, resulting in new and distinctive flavors that vary from batch to batch.

The Name

»Holmus« is an old international name for Bornholm. We have chosen it for our new spirits concept to emphasize the local identity and origin.
